Edited

Please note: Adding milestones is only available on the Blackbelt or Master plan. Grasshopper subscribers can easily upgrade by following this walkthrough.

Milestones help you stay on top of project timelines by marking key checkpoints or deadlines. These significant dates or events can be easily defined and tracked directly within your projects and on the Schedule. Whether it's a project kickoff, a major deliverable, or the final deadline, Milestones ensure you're always aligned with critical project goals and timelines.

How to Add Milestones in the Project & Client Section

1. Go to the Projects & Clients section.

2. Choose an existing project or create a new one.

3. Within the top of the project window, switch from Overview to Milestones.

4. Simply click +New Milestone, name your Milestone, set the date, pick a color and icon to highlight the step in your project timeline and add any details.

Adding Milestones Within the Schedule

1. Go to the Schedule.

2. Choose an existing booking with a project assigned.

3. Open the project within the booking, switch from Overview to Milestones.

4. Click +New Milestone, name your Milestone, set the date, pick a color and icon to highlight the step in your project timeline and add any details.

Tracking Milestones in the Schedule

Once added, these Milestones will appear in your project details, offering clear visibility of important dates. They will also be displayed in the Schedule, positioned between the date and the availability bar for easy tracking. Click on the milestone icon to view the status of upcoming milestones.

A great way to keep track of your Milestones is by using the Group by Project filter in the Schedule. When the grouping is applied, your milestones will appear directly in the Schedule—below the relevant date and in the project column. Simply click on the milestone icon to view its status and see any upcoming milestones.

Tracking Milestones on the Dashboard

If you have upcoming milestones or deadlines, the milestone icon in the selected color will appear below the date on the left-hand side. Click on the date to view more details. You’ll only see milestones for projects you’re either booked on or where you’ve acted as the Booker.
